all the dresden plate blocks for Tess's quilt are pieced and I'm working on my machine applique techniques
after many practice patches I think I've found the correct tension , thread , needle & stitch on my machine.
I am tossing up using a more solid looking orange centre fabric than the orange kei dots I had planned on using ... any thoughts ????
as a practice run I made this one up into a pillow & used a hope valley citrus/ grey in the centre on a kona coal background.
these fabrics will give the backing a more subtle boy look I hope
Hi, Lorraine! I came from flickr and I enjoyed looking at your beautiful creations, including this dresden plate! You have special talent with colors and fabric choices :) Love your quilts!!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of the kei dots, but a more solid orange centre would look great too. I think you can go either way!
ReplyDeleteHappy finishing stuff. I really need to get my bum into gear!
I like the kei dots too!!
ReplyDelete(For what its worth)
Love the Fabrics for your Plates...I think either would look Great...
ReplyDeletecheers
Either. I happen to love dots, but there are a lot of them. Having a solid centre would give a completely different look.
ReplyDeleteI really like the dots....it works for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love love love your zig zag quilt. The colours are an explosion - just wonderful.
The dresdens look fantastic Lorraine! I like the dots but I think either would look great. Now get it stitched up so can come round and swoon!
ReplyDeleteI love your pillow. It is sooo beautiful ! How I wish I could have time to sew one like this !
