Sunday Stash...here goes

As a confirmed polka dot lover these Kaffe Fassett dotties are a real treat !!

Some time ago I ordered this stack of solids in a colour spectrum , I love to gaze at it & often use it to figure colour choices. I have yet to use any but intend to make a spectrum quilt one day . It's the Kona solids range & has great saturated colour.

I continue to churn out my little scrappy cabins ......am now considering how to construct the quilt . No sashing I'm thinking but maybe borders ????
My youngest daughter has been afflicted by the scrappy log cabin disorder & has started on some of her own ;-)
Almost there ... 11 to go .

Excellent Day

Today I sorted, made some extra space & reorganized my studio .
Although it took up most of the day it feels excellent to have order once again .
Can't say how long it will last so I'll keep these pics as evidence.

fat quarter collections

some of my jelly rolls... I have many !

I think pink wins & I'm a little ahead of myself with that pile of layer cakes .

daisy block

This block is the result of a lesson with Kathy Doughty in hand piecing using a template pack .
I am very pleased with it even though it's far from perfect .
Thanks Kathy , I really enjoyed my session at Material Obsession .

Happy Birthday Fran

I have just returned home from a fantastic visit to Sydney for a party to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday . Mum loved seeing lots of friends & family in the lovely room overlooking the river & parkland .
My sister & I had made an early visit to the Sydney Flower Markets to choose the flowers for the tables. It wasn't difficult to find Mum's favourites , lots of beautiful roses & hydrangeas for the posies.

I also managed to fit in a class with Kathy Doughty at the sweet shop at Boronia Park ....Material Obsession . I plan to finish the hand pieced block today & will post a pic for Kathy ASAP . It was great to meet the Monday morning group & see their fantastic work. Hand piecing is new to me & I think I can love it !!
I was also able to feed my unhealthy obsession with Matryoska print fabric .... found at Quiltsmith in Annandale

and some other lovely bits to weigh down my suitcase .

I have a 2 week break from my day job & plan to get very busy in the sewing room .
I must away ......to cut up some more fabric
