Bright Minny Mui Log Cabin

I have been hoarding this Minny Mui sushi roll for an age & felt it was time to use it .
6 weeks old is far too small to be in hospital & he needs a bright & cheerful quilt.



I love these fabrics with their tiny , perfect details .

Sunday Stash #6

I can't wait to use these fantastic brights & polka dots.



The vivid green in this Kaffe Fassett is almost my all time favourite colour.

Wild seas

Buckets of rain , flooding and wild seas around these parts the last week !

We have stayed dry & safe but a work mate had her car squished by a fallen tree in the car park ... aaaggghhhh . 



On the quilting front I am finally getting on with some stippling after some lessons & advice from nice sewing machine lady ,  still far from perfect but getting there .
I have also joined a group of lovely quilters run by a very talented & sweet quilting teacher .So I'm hoping to improve my techniques & learn lots of new skills.



I finished this blue Liberty stars to send off to the UK for a newborn boy.





I need now to get on with the Brother-In-Law quilt .I will make a pieced back made of these really , really beautiful fabrics that arrived in the post this week from Purl Soho
Cake Rock Beach , I have been wanting an excuse to get me some of this for sometime.

Royal Mail sounds very flash !!

Today the postman brought me a very sweet parcel.

Not only sweet to look at . 

A really divine perfume came wafting from the parcel too.

A present from Joseph , a Liberty's of  London  bag with goodies.... he knows of my Liberty crush .

Lavender sachet so perfumed that the Australian custom doggies thought it might be contraband & they opened the parcel to check !!

Beautiful silk Liberty print sachet.

 & a roll  of  lovely soft hued  vintage fabrics by Kim Porter of Worn and Washed Fabrics.

Thank you , I love them both !!

It was also his  birthday yesterday so...........

Happy Birthday Joseph , we all miss you !!!

Mothers Day has been  perfect weather , lunch outdoors , champagne ,

tulips & the prettiest tea set.

Using up some of the large stack of pinks 

BIRDS GO TO NEW HOME

In my quest to give all my family members quilts it came around to my youngest sister Pam .
Only problem being , she is not a great lover of patchwork ( or wasn't ) .
She is a painter & film maker and began to describe a quilt that seemed to me impossible to create.
Think here brocade upholstery fabric & such like.
I found a pattern I thought she might like , simple but graphic.
I let her loose in my stash & this is the result.
I'm glad to say she loves it & so do I !
It is winging it's way south as we speak to her home in Melbourne .
It was professionally quilted by Cathy Davies in an all over whip style meander & picked up just in time to be taken home with Pam .

Sunday Stash #5

Some lovely blues & greens picked up at the Amitie stand at the Craft & stitches show in Brisbane today .




Also stopped by Ink & Spindle for some of their prints ... really love the look of these.
I listened to Bianca give talk on home based craft business & wondered if it might be possible ?




That my lot for this week , there is bound to more !!

A weekend of Craft Fair & some garden beautifying is planned hereabouts.
Probably not much sewing with family visiting from interstate ( sewing space becomes guest room ) & a daughter home from London for a few weeks !!!
